The Forks of the Kern is unlike any multi-day trip in the world. 22 miles of thundering class IV-V rapids mixed with cathedral high sequoias, sheer granite walls, and cascading creeks tumbling into the river. This trip is ideal for any adventurous group looking for the balance of sublimity in nature and adrenaline pumping whitewater. National Geographic recommended Kern River Outfitters Forks as the outfitter of choice for the Forks of the Kern and designated it “…one of the country’s premier whitewater runs.” If you are interested in a Forks of the Kern trip, we have dates available from late May to early June. If this trip sounds like your kind of adventure give us a call. We love talking about the Forks almost as much as we like running the river.
Matt is the owner and operator of Kern River Outfitters. He has been guiding for nearly 20 years and has logged over 20,000 river miles. When he is not on the Kern, you will find him guiding for his older brother, Will, in Southern Oregon, or his younger brother, Skip, on the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho. In the off-season, Matt writes whitewater guidebooks for GoRafting.com
