Our half-day trip originates below Lake Isabella and ends at Miracle Hot Springs. This trip features Class III rapids and is ideal for people who want to see the river but aren’t enthusiastic about tackling the rivers
biggest rapids. It is a wonderful introduction to the Lower Kern.

These trips are not regularly scheduled so if you have a large group and are looking for more information, then please call or email us.

“The four of us were in a raft by ourselves with one guide. Our guide, Kristen, was an experienced river guide with tons of knowledge about the history and ecology of the Kern River…I would totally go back next season for more.”

What’s the difference between the Lower and Upper Kern?

The biggest difference is that the Lower Kern originates from Lake Isabella and is a regulated flow. This means that we have flows much longer in the season, as the river level is less dependent on run-off.

Below is a summary map of the entire Lower Kern. Half day trips run a short section of what’s listed. This section is determined by the guides and is based on river flow.
