Tomorrow is April 13th which means it is our first day of guide school! We are thrilled to have an absolutely packed guide school with a great roster of participants. These daring boaters hail from all over the United States and vary in background and age. The oldest boater is 65 and the youngest is 17, proving it is never too early or late to continue your education. During their six day course expert instructors will teach them the ground work skills necessary to run whitewater rivers confidently and safely. The course is also the first step in becoming a guide for Kern River Outfitters. Check back in a week to see photos of our participants in action!
Matt is the owner and operator of Kern River Outfitters. He has been guiding for nearly 20 years and has logged over 20,000 river miles. When he is not on the Kern, you will find him guiding for his older brother, Will, in Southern Oregon, or his younger brother, Skip, on the Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho. In the off-season, Matt writes whitewater guidebooks for GoRafting.com
