We are pleased to announce that we are allowed to open, with our first trips scheduled 6/20/2020

Dear Guests,

This season is our 40th year of being on the Kern River. In the past four decades we’ve seen a lot too, good times and bad. In challenging times we’ve faced the disruption, adapted as necessary and moved forward.

The novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is one of those challenging times. Like so many other companies and people, we are closely watching the global and community impact. As of 6/13/2020 we have cancelled all rafting trips until June 20 and we have cancelled our Two Day Lower Kern rafting trips for the entire season.

Last season we adjusted our cancellation policy to better protect our guests’ financial investment. In addition to that, our company policy states that if we initiate a trip cancellation, we will refund 100% of the rafting trip fare.

To protect your investment within the 13 day window of the rafting trip launching, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance immediately after booking your rafting trip. Add ons such as “cancel for any reason” will give you enhanced coverage and may refund the majority of the trip fare. Using a comparison website such as Insure My Trip will allow you to evaluate different plans quickly and easily.

At Kern River Outfitters, we believe it is in challenging times like these that the experience of a river trip is a welcome reprieve. Whether you are planning a river trip now or in the future, our guides are excited to share the Kern River with you and we look forward to seeing you on the water.

Sincerely,
Matt Volpert
CEO
